The Barbeque Sauce: Longhorn Barbeque Sauce
from Safeway Preparation 1:
- Rinse and put wings in a baking pan sprayed with nonstick
coating.
- Season with coarse black pepper and drizzle about 1/4 cup of
olive oil over the chicken.
- Bake at 400 degrees for almost an hour.
- Take out of the oven and drizzle barbeque sauce over each
wing.
- Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes and serve.
Preparation 2:
- Prepare a mixture of 1/4 cup olive oil, 2 tsp. Italian Seasoning,
1 tbsp dijon mustard, dash of coarse black pepper, small amount of
crushed garlic.
- Mix well.
- After rinsing chicken and placing in the baking pan, drizzle the
above mixture over the chicken and bake for about an hour.
- We don't
use barbeque sauce on this one. It's good with ranch dressing.
- (This mixture also works for cut up red potatoes baked in the oven
for 30-45 minutes and sprinkled with parmesean cheese then rebaked
about 10 minutes and serve.
Both of these preparations are acceptable for lowfat diabetics.
